Worship

It's All About God!

The purpose of worship is for ALL God's people to honor and bless the Lord.  Arise NKY seeks to live into that understanding by moving worship from that of observation to one of participation.  Instead rows where everyone points toward a platform, worship with Arise usually happens in a circle that invites everyone to sing, discuss God's word, and pray for one another as the worship experience unfolds to the glory of God.

Holy Communion

Arise NKY places Christ at the center of worship each week by sharing in Holy Communion.  Jesus instructs us to remember him through the breaking of bread and sharing in the cup - embracing his forgiveness and celebrating his presence with us.

Sharing a Meal

Jesus says, “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends" (Rev. 3:20, NLV).  Likewise, Arise NKY makes eating together part of the weekly experience.  As relationships deepen around the table, sharing a meal feeds into our worship together as friends in Christ.

Sing to the Lord

Praising the Lord with song is an important part of house church worship.  For a sample of the type of praise music Arise NKY uses, check out the church playlist - Arise NKY Sunday Worship - on Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6kppjdOseRU0MhKN2V6I8X?si=082634cdbdaa41a7)

Growing in the Word

The Bible is the text book from which we learn and build our faith - learning to hear God's voice and discern God's will.  Whether it be in response to a sermon or a group Bible study, participants have the opportunity to ask questions and share insights.

Prayer

Prayer is vital to experiencing the presence of God in worship.  We pray for one another and for God's healing love to be known in a broken and hurting world.
